BAM Contractors (formerly Ascon Contractors) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal BAM Group of the Netherlands. BAM Contractors covers the entire spectrum of construction in Ireland. Its subsidiary operating companies are:
• BAM Civil (formerly Ascon)
• BAM Building (formerly Rohcon)
• Specialist Works
• BAM Property (formerly Ascon Property Developments)
• BAM Rail
• BAM FM
Together, these operating companies rank in the top 5 of major Irish construction companies. BAM Building has its own Small Works & Maintenance Division.
A strategic goal for BAM, as set out in its Strategic Agenda 2007-2009, is to strengthen the BAM brand across Europe. While challenging, re-branding provides synergies and opportunities to add value to the type and scale of projects that we undertake.
BAM Building and BAM Civil were presented with Highly Commended Awards at the National Irish Safety Awards in 2012. Since 2007 we have achieved and retained an 'A-Grade' in Safe-T-Cert one of the few contractors in the Country to do so.
BAM PPP and BAM Rail already operate successfully in Ireland. We have undertaken 3 major PPP Projects and have successfully delivered rail projects for the RPA.
Royal BAM Group has a turnover in excess of €8 billion (2008) and is ranked in the Top 15 in the European Construction Ratings.
BAM Civil
BAM Civil (Ascon) was established in Ireland in 1958 after the successful delivery of the Wexford Bridge Project by a joint venture which included HBG of the Netherlands. In 1989, HBG acquired the full ownership of Ascon. As Ireland's largest civil engineering and public works contractor, over 50 years, we have successfully delivered much of Ireland's build infrastructure.
BAM Building
BAM Building (Rohcon) was established in 1993 when Rohan Construction was purchased by the Group. The strong building tradition and expertise of Rohan was transferred to BAM Building; this was the basis for the professional, capable and flexible management team that we have today.
Within the Group, BAM Building has a separate management structure that focuses attention exclusively on its own clients and objectives. BAM Building ranks among the top 6 Building Contractors operating nationally and has successfully completed quality projects of the largest scale for the most prestigious Clients.
BAM Building has a Small Works & Maintenance Division with its own management structure and dedicated, highly skilled and versatile teams delivering a wide range of quality projects.
BAM Property
BAM Property (Ascon Property Developments) was established in Ireland in 2004, in order to provide a clear focus for the Group's property development projects.
